Somnium Events
Somnium Events is your one-stop source for Somnium Space - leading VR/Metaverse platform - related events. Use the filter buttons to filter on categories, modes and more. For more information click on the section headers.
Each event has one or more categories that indicate what type of event it is. To limit the list of events to certain categories only, click the 'Categories' button. This will bring up a dialog with all available categories. By default all categories are active. Clicking a category however will deactivate it and events with only the deactivated category will be removed from the list.
Clicking a deactivated category will activate it again. You can always know that you have excluded categories. In that case, the 'Categories' button will change color.
Note that events can have multiple categories and only if all categories of an event have been deactivated, it will no longer show in the list.
Each event has one or more tags. To limit the list of events to events with certain tags only, click the 'Tags' button. This will bring up a dialog with all available tags. By default all tags are active. Clicking a tag however will deactivate it and events with only the deactivated tag will be removed from the list.
Clicking a deactivated tag will activate it again. You can always know that you have excluded tags. In that case, the 'Tags' button will change color.
Note that events can have multiple tags and only if all tags of an event have been deactivated, it will no longer show in the list.
Modes tell you via what means you can attend or follow the event. Available modes are VR, 2D, Web and Livestream. Note that events may have multiple modes. For example, it is not uncommon for an event to be
accessible via VR and 2D and also be available as a livestream.
Use the search button in the button bar to do a text search in the name, description and event tags. It is an easy way to find events that match a specific term. Note that the search will always take offset in the current scope,
which means that it will obey the current filtering on categories, modes, past events, etc. To illustrate, if you only show future events,
the search will only be done among future events and not include events in the past. If you want to include events in the past you must
first include past events using the 'Past Events' button in the button bar.
Use the Past Events and Cancelled Events buttons to include past and cancelled events respectively. By default only future and active events are shown.
By clicking the My Events button only events that you created will be shown. Note that only people with whitelisted addresses can create events. Note also that this feature requires you to connect your Metamask wallet.
Somnium Events has a map so you can see exactly where events are held in Somnium Space. You can show (or hide) it by using the Show/Hide Map button.Try clicking on an event image in the list and the map will automatically zoom in on the location. Note also that events will be stacked on the map
if multiple events are held in the same location (like little lego blocks). You can always see what block belongs to what event in the list. Hovering over an event image will cause the
block to change color. Clicking on a block on the map will show a little popup with the event.
Use the 'Show Calendar' button for a calendar view. The calendar will show on what days there are events. Clicking on a day will show what events. If you want to filter the list with events based on a specific day, click the 'Apply Filter' button on the calendar view.
For a quick 12-month view of when events are (and were) planned, click on the double down arrow just under the button bar. This will reveal an event heatmap spanning 12 months (4 months in the future and 8 months in the past). Clicking on a little colored square in the heatmap will automatically filter the list to match events on that day.
Each visible event is reflected by an 'event card'. Note that events can be recurring. In that case every occurrence will have its own card. A card gives you all the information you need. The title and description, categories, date and time, event modes (vr, 2d, web and/or livestream), tags, relevant links and even a clock ticking down to the start of the event.
